My most ambitious graphic design project to date, Squid and Owl is being serialized weekdays as a Flickr set. I'm planning to have the book out by X-Mas. Check back for a buy link by November. I'm still sorta hoping some conventional publisher will swoop in and make a reasonable offer. Could that be you, dear reader? Otherwise: vanity, vanity, all is vanity. Ergo, there's nothing really wrong with self-publishing.
In the meantime, I've set up a nice Squid and Owl section in my CafePress store, Rhinobird. You can buy a Change mug. Or t-shirt.

I found this on flickr recently - I really love it! I hope you find a publisher because I want to buy a copy!

Thanks very much for the kind words. I'm planning to self-publish it by X-Mas. So you should be able to buy a copy soon.

Wow! This is pretty cool. Do you have photos of the mugs or t-shirts? I recommend you post them here.

Wow.. I've never considered coionkg squid.. but that looks AMAZING and now I want to try. Thanks for this post! I haven't hosted large dinner parties, so the best tip I can give is for when we have guests.. and that's to tag team. My husband and I always do best when we tag team; he takes one part of the meal (often the main dinner dish) and I do one part (often sides and dessert). We always enjoy the prep and the meal so much more that way.

I am not a squid girl myself (something about the txerute, I think), but your photos sure are gorgeous! As far as my best entertaining tip goes...don't be afraid to let a little potluck sneak into your life! If someone offers to bring a dessert, or some wine, I'm always more than happy to have that taken care of. :)

Great instinct! I don't know on how you compare them to the reality, but I believe in your creativity.
